"Kazakhstan: 7 Key Tax Changes
Affecting International Structures"

How to Adapt an International Structure to the Tax Changes in Kazakhstan?

In this video, Viсtor Kalgin breaks down 7 key tax changes that foreign investors and asset owners in Kazakhstan need to keep in mind.

Starting from 2026:

  • The three-year exemption on dividends and capital gains from the sale of Kazakh companies comes to an end.
  • A reduced 5% withholding tax rate on dividends is introduced — but only for relatively small outbound payments.
  • The requirement to meet a specific tax burden threshold to apply treaty benefits is abolished.
  • The withholding tax on interest payments under debt instruments is reduced.
  • The rules distinguishing royalties from services for withholding tax purposes are clarified.
  • The withholding tax exemption for Astana Hub residents is reinstated.

What these changes mean for international businesses — and which steps should be taken already now — is explained in detail in the video.

We look forward to seeing you at our future events.
